Alan Stratton
Don't know how I missed Alan's site, but it is at the top of the list now. A very productive and wide ranging producer of turning videos, Alan is exploratory, presents well and shares his lessons learned in a frank and friendly way. Also great home page with narrative on his latest projects at aswoodturns.com

Cap'n Eddie Castelin No survey of turning videos would be complete without the irrepressible Capp'n Eddie Castilin. That said, his site is full of practical and fun turning ideas and projects. |
Wyoming Woodturner
Sam Angelo holding forth on one of his many exploratory YouTube topics. Thread Chasing videos are thoughtfully presented, and almost make it seem that you can do it too! A great video site. |
Lyle Jamieson
Few turners have put in more time toward mastery of our craft, have the practical experience, or have been more serious students of woodturning than Lyle. A vastly experienced teacher, presenter, and tool designer, you can take his advice to your lathe with great confidence for sure. |
Bob Hamilton This may be the only view you will see of Bob Hamilton. His YouTube site has dozens of videos on virtually every project imaginable. His laconic style and detail presentation of superb basic technique and tool skills will lead you in the right direction. A top site. Nick Cook
You will have to search for Nick's videos. Try clicking HERE. Also peruse his videos listed on this site. Nick has videos hosted by Jet and other vendors on YouTube. There is no better and more thorough teacher of basic turning skills. So well worth the extra effort to search them out. |
Gwinnett Woodworkers
This could be your online AAW chapter. See the long list of finely presented and recorded club demonstrations. A wealth of knowledge that rivals going to your local club meeting. This is Mike Peace's chapter where he is a frequent demonstrator and one of the video editors. |
Larry Marley
Among the best produced videos of all are those by Larry. No narrative, just fun music and superb, self explanatory turning technique. And every project is an exciting one, beautifully designed. Want to start on your next holiday ornament? You can't miss on this site! |
Woodturners of Southwest Missouri Another AAW chapter that has developed quite a fine video library. Several topics covered well that are not well represented elsewhere. |
Woodturners Guild of North Carolina
Yet another great AAW Chapter site with a rich range of demos by local and professional turners. Site is well curated. You will find lots of good stuff here too. |
Mike Peace
A fresh new video site, with engaging topics for new and experienced turners. Mike has put some real effort into passing on his research, commitment to teaching, and well earned mastery. New stuff seems to be coming out every week.
American Association of Woodturners
This site needs to be more visited, at least by me. Dozens of well produced videos by our favorite association, and a variety of superb turners and presenters. Many short videos with first class ideas and takes on common turning issues. "FUNdamentals" is a great new concept supported by fine videos.

Stuart Batty
Stuart's site arguably has the the best technical education on woodturning tool technique. His clever and effective analogies and explanations of why one method works and another doesn't leads to many an "Aha!" For a serious student of woodturning, new learner, mentor, demonstrator or teacher these are must watch. |
Reed Gray, AKA Robohippy
Reed keeps coming up with undiscovered, highly practical new video topics. His tool and lathe techniques are superb, and well explained. You will become a better turner fast by working through this site with gobs of good stuff.
Robert Sorby
There are so many finely produced videos at the Robert Sorby site you will likely loose yourself. Of course tool use is the major focus and strength

Carl Jacobson Carl's website is is amazing for the sheer volume of turning ideas and weekly one-off, let's "give it a try" projects. His energy and endless innovation are contagious, even with somewhat just "get it done" execution and turning techniques. Great ideas. that can be further developed. |
